Las Vegas, NV  -  Police officers have arrested a Durango High School teacher on drug trafficking charges stemming from a raid on his residence.

Jeremy Smart, 29,  is being held in the Clark County Detention Center on $46,000 bail on 5 drug related charges.  Along with Smart, his girlfriend Ashley Bright, 30, and roommate Charity Fields, 32, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, trafficking in and possession of methamphetamine, conspiracy to sell drugs, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.  Two other people were arrested on lesser charges.

Oxycodine, Adderall, and Xanax were found along with methamphetamine, marijuana, mushrooms, and more than $50,000 in stolen electronics.

Las Vegas SWAT officers raided the home with a search warrant after receiving a tip that drugs were being sold for stolen goods and cash.

The house involved in the raid was fitted with surveillance cameras.  The cameras could be monitored from inside the downstairs study.

Smart acknowledges he knew drugs were sold in his home, but claims he is not the seller.  No information has been released about another potential suspect.  The police report states that Smart has told authorities that people regularly came to the home to buy or exchange drugs for stolen equipment.

Jeremy Smart has been placed on paid leave from the Clark County School District.
