Asians attacked at a Philadelphia high school, no hate crime here

In Philadelphia (the city of brotherly love), Pennsylvania, at South Philadelphia High School, recently (December 3rd, 2009), there was a hate crime that was not a hate crime. Huh? According to an article appearing in The Dallas Morning News, reprinted from The Associated Press, around 70 mostly black students attacked 35 Asian students at the high school. According to the news article, “…few observers believe the violence was caused by racial hatred.” In other words, no hate crime here. So why the attack? Was it an expression of love? Did they want the Asians to share their lunch? Truth be known, it must have been jealously. Americans of Asian descent have the highest SAT scores, lowest out of wedlock births, highest average income, and highest college graduation rate. They enjoy as a group one the highest intact family units. They concern themselves with success through education. For this dedication they are envied by the slothful, lazy, give me a hand out types in the USA. The news article illustrated the success of one of the victims of the South Philadelphia High School attack as Duong Nghe Ly. Mr. Ly with his family migrated to the USA from Vietnam two years ago. This past summer Mr. Ly enjoyed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania, attended a psychology class at a community college, attended conferences in Houston and Boston. What did the attackers do this past summer? – NOTE: I am confident due to the trolls on YouTube and the Neanderthals that refuse

@seonidh I’m glad that you haven’t experienced racism in Japan. I still see some Japanese especially older people have racist attitude towards Korean people. (So I don’t blame Korean people hating Japanese so much) So those who look down on Korean people use discriminatory expression especially when they talk about Korean people who are successful in their business.

We Asians are invisible race in US because we are too busy studying or working all the time. We don’t have time for protests, etc. so we don’t get heard but who cares.
I would say Asians are the most conservative ethnic group and we Asians know what to do to have a better life. We don’t take short cuts & don’t need handouts from the government.

You leftists blame rich white people for the racial hatred and problems in America.

You blame Christians for the religious wars.

You leftists want to use the government to silence those whom you don’t like.

And you leftists should work on your own hatred and whining before lecturing the rest of us on it.

I’m sick of this crap how the tests in school are culturally biased and all of the lame excuses that people come up with as to why they don’t score well on tests.

The tests and standards have nothing to do with your race, they have everything to do with your attitude.

@USAGymnast Sweetie I never said a thing about rich white people and their hatred.
Many religions, including Islam and Christianity have in fact been responsible for religious wars. Extremists in both of those religions have also murdered in the name of God…that’s a fact. The vast majority of those religions are peace loving people. To turn a blind eye is not accepting responsibility….something you are very good at.

@USAGymnast I in no way condone our government silencing those who they do not like….that’s why I was so outraged when the Bush administration outed a CIA spy, trashed former military officers who spoke out on the Iraq war, reassigned a military leader for being blunt about how many troops it would take to invade Iraq and even trashed former members of his dad’s staff when they told the truth that Bush had a mindset on invading Iraq regardless of threat.
It’s hard not to hate liars like you.

I hate to admit it, but black people do pick on Asians. That happened to me a few times in the past. And it’s also true that black people can be racist too. In Staten Island a few months ago some black teenagers were beating up on hispanic day workers and the media downplayed it. I still think most black people are great though. It’s just that there are a few jerks in every race.

This incident is the same as that
it is not a crime to eat pigs and cows but it is a crime to eat dolphines and whales.

Tony, FYI, in California there are several Vietnamese, Chinese and Cambodian gangs. Not the types you’ll ever see ever graduating from college. I don’t know anything about the article you post in question, but I just want to point out that there are many ethnic groups within what your statistics blanketly term “blacks” and “Asians”.

@MelodyOfVision “I still think most black people are great though. It’s just that there are a few jerks in every race.”

This statement is nothing but politically correct.

The main problem was alluded to by Tony in his video. The AA family structure in Philadelphia has gone to hell. The asian community brings a tight-knit structure along with it, and a great drive to take advantage of the opportunities available in America. You can’t move here to get a living wage working in a factory, but you can still get a world class education, and they’re taking advantage of it.

  24. ArturArtorius

The AA community was shattered with the loss of jobs and opportunities in the inner city that came with white flight and de-industrialization. Broken households perpetuated by government aide programs led to a culture of desperation, and, sadly, ignorance in many AA communities. I shouldn’t call them communities really since they are no longer functioning as such.
